Disability Inclusion Project is formally known as “Access to Services and Protection for Children with Disabilities in Eswatini”.
aim of Project:
To provide access to services to Children with Disabilities (CwDs) in Health, Education and Social Services.
Overview of the project;
- Imbita together with Young Heroes are the two implementing partners (IPs) of the Project with Imbita implementing in all four regions of the country and YH only in Hhohho and Shiselweni. Both IPs are implementing in 13 Tinkhundla, a total of 26 Tinkhundla in the entire country with a vast majority of these, in sites were both these IPs are already visible and operating in various socio-economic projects.
- The Disability Inclusion (DI) Project aims to raise awareness on Disability Inclusion by ensuring that no child with a disability is left behind in accessing services. Further, the Project provides support for CwDs to get health care and social services such as birth registrations as well as enrolment in schools.
- Project is family-oriented and aims to capacitate the CwDs, their caregivers and family members on accessing services and ensuring that they are aware of the benefits of inclusiveness and that the rights of CwDs are accessed similar to any other child.
- Project enrolls all types of disability on children from 0-18 years.
- The Project also does home improvements to vulnerable households with CwDs
