Local Membership Committees
The Local Membership Committees (LMCs) are an important tool for outreach and empowerment. Members living in the same community are encouraged to form these committees and receive Imbita services within their communities. The members are trained on the LMC formation and operation. Imbita team visits each LMC once a month– on a date determined by the community-following a fixed schedule, to educate members on various topics, receive feedback on services and handle other transactions.
As the LMC matures, the interval of field visits is extended and the committee members act as liaisons with Imbita to further foster the culture of saving on behalf of the LMC, intervening in case of loan repayment problems etc.
